A seamless first approach to Ecuador

The Ecuador Signature Journey offers a carefully curated introduction to mainland Ecuador, connecting the country’s most representative Andean landscapes, cultural references, and living traditions through a comfortable and well-structured route.

Traveling across Quito, Otavalo, Cotopaxi, Riobamba, Ingapirca, and Cuenca, the journey brings together heritage cities, volcanic scenery, hacienda-style stays, local craftsmanship, cacao culture, archaeological history, and relaxed countryside moments. Each experience is selected to provide travelers with a clear and balanced understanding of Ecuador’s diversity without overloading the pace of the journey.

Designed for first-time visitors and international buyers seeking a complete, reliable, and highly sellable Ecuador program, this journey reflects Maquita Impact-Based DMC’s approach to local operation, meaningful territorial connections, and travel experiences that create value beyond the route itself.

Signature moments across Ecuador

A carefully balanced journey through Ecuador’s most emblematic Andean landscapes, cultural encounters, hacienda-style stays and heritage cities.

01

Quito Heritage

Begin in Ecuador’s Andean capital, where colonial architecture, living culture and mountain scenery frame the first encounter with the country.

02

Otavalo & Northern Andes

Explore artisan traditions, highland markets and local identity in one of the most recognized cultural regions of Ecuador.

03

Cotopaxi Landscapes

Travel through dramatic volcanic scenery, open páramo landscapes and soft countryside experiences at the heart of the Andes.

04

Cuenca & Southern Traditions

Close the journey in one of Ecuador’s most elegant heritage cities, with architecture, artisan traditions and a slower southern rhythm.

10 days across Ecuador’s essential Andes

A clear route from Quito to Ecuador’s northern and southern highlands, designed for smooth logistics, cultural depth and strong first-time destination appeal.

Welcome to Ecuador and private transfer to the hotel. This first day allows travelers to settle into the Andean capital, adjust to the altitude and prepare for the journey ahead.

Explore selected areas of Quito before continuing to the Middle of the World, one of Ecuador’s defining geographic landmarks. Later, a chocolate experience introduces cacao through flavor, origin and local identity.

Travel north into the Andean highlands, with a visit to a local embroidery project in Peguche and lunch in Otavalo before continuing to a hacienda-style lodge.

Begin the day at a relaxed pace in the hacienda surroundings before returning toward Quito, with a stop in Cayambe for lunch and recreation at a hacienda-style restaurant.

Travel south toward the Cotopaxi region and settle into a hacienda-style lodge, with time for horseback riding or relaxed countryside exploration.

Explore Cotopaxi National Park, where volcanic scenery and highland ecosystems shape the day, before continuing south toward a hacienda-style hotel near Riobamba.

Travel through the central Andes toward Colta and Alausí for the Devil’s Nose Train experience, followed by lunch at the viewpoint and continuation to Ingapirca for overnight.

Begin with a guided visit to the Ingapirca archaeological complex before continuing to Cuenca, where a walking city tour introduces the city’s architecture, rhythm and cultural atmosphere.

Visit Gualaceo for an introduction to the Macana textile tradition, then return to Cuenca for the flight to Quito and transfer to Pifo for the final overnight stay.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure or connect with an Amazon Rainforest or Galapagos Islands extension according to the confirmed travel plan.
