Due to its commitment and identification with the poorest, since the 90’s, together with women’s and youth organizations, it promotes in Ecuador, community tourism experiences with fair trade principles, for, through the exchange between communities and tourists not only know, enjoy and take care of nature but also support families to achieve better living conditions.
María Jesús Pérez Mateos
From the institutional commitment of the Maquita Foundation, together with the organizations and cooperation agencies, it promotes sustainable and responsible tourism initiatives, in order to achieve the comprehensive development of communities through the generation of employment and economic income for families through the Social and Solidarity Economy. , with a fair distribution and conservation of cultural and environmental wealth.
William Villanueva Hernández
He has been working at Maquita Turismo for 10 years, and has more than 17 years of experience in the industry on issues of sustainable tourism, community tourism, programming, commercialization and tourism marketing. He has led training and capacity development programs for communities and organizations, taking into account the principles of responsible tourism and the Sustainable Development Goals.
